Hi sailpappy, I'm new here, but when I first started to have CH (7 years ago) I went for allergy tests and came up positive for mold/mildew, among other things. I have usually gotten fall cycles, and the doctor attributed it to molds etc., in the air from when the farmer's burn their fields. The smoke doesn't help either. (My doc was still on the allergy/sinus kick at the time and prescribed Flonase a corticosteroid nasal spray) However, this year I started a cycle about 3 weeks ago immediately after I went through some moldy papers I found in the basement. I started sneezing first and then the eye started to water like crazy and I could feel the CH start. I went to my doctor immediately and she started me on Flonase again as well as 40mg Amitriptylene at night. It has prevented the CH from really kicking in, but I still get shadows etc., so I know I'm still in cycle. I have also totally stayed away from alcohol during this cycle. I wonder if that is the connection, Molds/Mildews etc., aren't most alcohols created by fermentation etc., they are essentially moldy grains, aren't they? I don't know, just a thought.
