Imitrex is a drug used to abort a headache once it has started. It comes in 3 forms, pills wich were too slow for me, the self injections which work the fastest, but are the most expensive, and a nasal spray,which is somewhere in between the two. It works by constricting the blood vessels to the head,decreasing the flow.But it also constricts blood flow to the heart, so it should not be used by people with heart problems. Its suggested that you limit its use to two doses in 24hrs.
