I've read a number of messages about using ice packs, but none mention using them on the carotid artery on the neck just under the jawbone. I found that using it 'til it hurts (it only takes a minute) and repeating every few minutes seems to work for me. Sometimes I combine it with ice to the temple (where my pain seems to start) and get better success than the carotid alone. Ice to the temple and other parts of my head alone, however, don't seem to help that much.
Anybody else find ice to the carotid helpful? (Dracula, eat your heart out!)
