The nausea makes it sound like migraine to me. And clusters appear to come out on nowhere, but that's because they usually strike after you've gone to sleep and not while you're awake to notice the warning signs. On the other hand, there are people who've had clusters seemingly came out of nowhere while they were awake. But clusters don't get milder during a cycle. Each and every attack is unmitigated agony. However, you never know. I'd recommend seeing a headache specialist and/or a neurologist.
