I'm a 35 year old male who has been suffering with Cluster Headaches for 7 years. I have been to many neurologists, ENT's and any other specialist that could make some money off my insurance. I have had two nasal surgeries (they helped for a different issue). Now, my doctor wants to send me back to the neurologist. I'm sure the neurologist will want to put me on some kind of medication. What do you do?
Establish a great relationship with your primary care physician. After all the tests you have had, there will be no organic cause of your headaches. I find that by taking Vicodin at the onset of a headache, I can cut its duration to about 30 minutes. There are days when I take 3 Vicodin and there are months when I don't take any.
Treat your pain and don't sweat where it is coming from.
