Regarding the "road rage" incident and the dog.
I lived in California in 1998 - 1999. Coming from Hawaii and living with the "Aloha Spirit", I am appalled by attitudes in California, especially regarding driving and the way people act on the highway. They are SO AGGRESSIVE. This is the third time I have lived in California for one year since my husband goes there on academic sabbaticals.
I have gotten so that I will DRIVE OFF THE ROAD when people get on my bumper. That is not only on the highway but also on city streets.
I am wondering if this incident with the dog happened on Highway 101. This is particularly a bad highway. My son-in-law was born and raised in California, and he will not drive on that highway. It is because of the way people act in their cars on that road. They are INSANE in their aggressiveness.
Also I am appalled by the "pushy attitudes" of many Californians. My own daughter who was raised in Hawaiid has forgotten the "aloha spirit" even with family often. She is just as pushy as the rest of them. What is it about California? The people there drive regularly at 80 - 100 miles/hour and the police can't do anything about it. They sometimes give tickets, but Californians just shrug and laugh about it.
California's rush for the gold is still going on and people get treated badly when they get in the way.
I think they need to examine their culture.
Oprah, I think you are WONDERFUL and you help people SO MUCH. Do you think you can help this situation?
Love,
Jackie
