I had a migrane last night which lasted approx an hour and a half. Nothing seems to help. I have been having many problems with my family this week and became highly upset last night. I am assuming the stress along with the crying and screaming telling others about my situation caused this headache. My doctor prescribes me verapamil also and I am not sure it is helping. I took the first one at 12:00 noon Saturday and here it is only Thursday and I have had two migranes. There are no side affects as of today from the verapamil and I have been taking it for approx 4 years and can not remember whether or not it has helped. Once my 6 weeks of migranes have ceased I seem to forget when they occurred, side effects or anything associated. I went to the hospital a few weeks back and they gave me a cold towel while I waited and the headache went away. I thought the cold towel helped, although I did wait atleast an hour before I headed to the hospital. The cold towel last night was of no help to my migrane and it seems like I have tried much, including but not limited to I try not drinking alcohol nor pop during this time, and to no avail. I wish I could get some help. For the last 9 years I have suffered tremendously and everyone tells me there is no cure. Do you know of other remedies. Many times the emergency room tech has asked why did my doctor prescribe me verapamil and I can not answer that. I guess that's why I was suprised to see your message on the internet. Thanks and take care of yourself.
