Hi Barbie,
Just yesterday I was trying to pinpoint just when it was I gave up caffeine.(Just the coffee & sodas). I think it was about right before I started getting clusters.
However, I really think it is just coincidence.
I did have caffeine withdrawal symptoms, but nothing to write home about.
Maybe since the caffeine tends to keep one hyper, it may lend some credibility to the notion that relaxation periods are the most vulernable times for CH attacks. They certainly are for me.
But, having been off the very high amounts of caffeine I was on, now one cup of good coffee will give me the shakes. So I'll stick to the lower doses in hot chocolate : )
I've heard many in here say coffee helps their CH.
I think caffeine is another area that needs more study relating to CH. I doubt there is any significance to the cause, but maybe to triggers or relief?
How much caffeine does your husband get outside of the medication?
I feel much less anxiety myself without that pot of coffee in me every morning : )
More relaxed...hmmmm..?????
Tough call!
Dave
