I wish to make it clear that Mr, Pearson is not advisor to the Minister for Northen Ireland, I am. I am very well informed on the subject and intend to visit the province at some time in the future.
Unlike Mr. Pearson, I also know about Uzbekistan, which is almost next door to Bechuanaland, where my parents lived while I was at Eton.
Please do not take Mr. Pearson's ignorance about our Empire as an indication of the modern Englishman's attitude, which has indeed moved on since we decided that our American colonies had no value to us.
