re: Diane's msg re: my earlier posting in response to somebody's ??s about seratonin, and depression, in relation to CH :: HUH?
just ck'd my posting - doesn't suggest St JWort for CH in any way - just comments that it helps me a lot w/mild depressive cycles - (which is something the source posting asked about)- in fact stated that I didn't think it helped at all with CH
in fact I wouldn't EXPECT depression treatment to help CH - unless there is a coincidental or parallel (rather than direct causal)aspect of treatment used -
as far as I understand depressive illness, which is very different from simply being extremely discouraged, or "bummed out", I'd be more inclined to say CH and depression are more apt to be mutually exclusive at any given point in time,
person asked about seratonin: there is a lot about that on the 22p CH discussion found at this site (NOT on the msg board - go to Home page, then go to the "click here" for cluster info, which follows the word "Fantastic")
and strong theory that there is a seratonin CH link - maybe
also - many meds have multiple dynamics, and may affect different ailments, in different ways, for different biochemical reasons -important not to make too many absolute statements about what does what, when & where - - that approach on the part of MDs has been a major problem for CH patients for a long time
in my wife's lab there is a poster:
"For Any Complicated Problem There Is A Simple Solution - And It's Usually Wrong"
lots of variables are often linked not by direct cause/effect bonds, but by unsuspected common roots - sometimes you have to back up several layers of correlation to find the link -
it is real important to CAREFULLY read any of this stuff, to avoid getting things twisted up
