Because
1. it increases your risk of breast cancer,
2. you're not menopausal, I think,
3. if you were, a good, natural source of plant estrogens is soy isoflavones (180 mg. per day);
according to a lot of recent and persuasive research, soy gives you the benefits of estrogen-replacement
drugs without increasing your chance of breast cancer. It also has numerous other virtues.
It has been suggested that, since "mostly men get cluster headaches," women clusterheads
might have higher-than-normal testosterone levels.
I have yet to see any documentation supporting this argument, however, and in fact, I am convinced
that in time the proportion of females in the sample will be recognized as much higher
(our cluster survey already suggests this).
So please wait until better research is done into the relation between CH and hormones.
