Hi all,
it has been quite a while since I posted here on the board for the last time.
I just wanted to tell all the chronical sufferers out there, that there is hope!
Since the beginnig of October I am cluster free and I was diagnosed with a primary
chronical cluster headache. But my doctor was quite a help for me. He gave me Verapamil and
Imigran (Imitrex) and I was cluster free during the time I took the meds.
One day I started to cut the dosage down on verapamil and did so more and more over the time.
And when I stopped taking Verapamil, the chronics where gone.
I have a life now and I can sleep during the night for two months now. I don't use and meds
anymore (although I never leave home without my injection pen :)) and there is no attack anymore.
I even can drink alcohol without triggering an attack and I still smoke....
Only two small attacks occured in the meantime, but they where so slight, they wouldn't even be worth
to be called shadows....
And they where my fault. One happened, when I didn't sleep for more than 20 hours, the other one, when
I didn't eat for more than 16 hours.
BUt otherwise it works fine. Regular food and regular sleep patterns helped me a lot (I guess) and the
verapamil, imigran and oxygen helped me as well.
So please, chronics! Do not dispair and just fight the demon.
And to all the "cyclers": May your cycle tonight be over!
Best wishes to all of you,
Lars (from Germany)
