Hi Sailpappy,
Job was a character from a book of the Bible
by the same name.
There has been much debate over the years as to whether this was an actual person or merely a
story relating to strength in the face of adversity. I don't think that matters too much
to me, I read it as a "Things could be worse"
type of message when the "Why me?" syndrome sets
in.
After reading so many of your posts, it seems what
an incredible story your life has been and is now.
I catch just another aspect here and there scattered amongst the posts, which makes me interested how this story would sound in chronological order. I'm sure it'd be quite a story.
Job was such a man. He had everything taken from him and suffered everything imaginable, but never
gave up.
I think you could have as easily said as he in
reference to his suffering:
"He bursts upon me again and again;
he rushes at me like a warrior."
Like Job, you John are one who many of us can
look to now in present day and say to ourselves,
if this man can deal with all this, then surely
we can too!
In sincere respect,
Dave
