Don't know where are you from, but I think we are near in Europe. I'm an Italian male, 46 y.o. epysodic sufferer fron 23 years. One 3 months cycle every year, 4/5 attacks per day.
About the doctors, in Italy is the same.
About the treatments, .....hmmm they vary from person to person. Each of us has his own methods, meds and prayers.
The most common things (not meds) you can try immediately are O2 and Water treatment (see tips on the left of page)
About the meds used you could take a look (not an happy look) at the survey statistics. oh BTW in USA our Imigram is Imitrex (but have the same price....)
The diet: also this vary enormously from person to person... the only common bad thing is alcohol.
