Dear Jackie, First of all I am sorry that you're having a difficult time. While I suffer from chronic rather than episodic, there are one or two aspects from your post to which I can relate. The first is the "dull ache" you describe. They sound much like the "shadows" I get when a round is winding down, and often are followed by a brief round of cluster pain in the opposite eye/side of head before they dissapear. Perhaps you are experiencing a form of that. As for the wine, while I no longer drink any kind of alchohol, I find that chocolate can act as a simular trigger. However, there are periods of time when I am able to eat chocolate without paying with a cluster. I've always looked at this phenom like the weather; when all the elements come together to form a particular "recipe," the result is a tornado. Hope your struggle takes a holiday soon. I know how devastating and debilitating pain can be when persistant. All my best to you.
