Well folks, as promised earlier in the day---here I am...exactly 90 minutes to the second that I fell asleep. You guys sound like real experts so I'm sure you've heard this all but I'd still like comparisons---I, like many of you, am trying to establish some common ground for research purposes.
Responses are appreciated either here or e-mail. What I've noticed during my 30 year marriage to episodic CH's:
2-3 weeks before onset I get what appear to be "normal mild headaches (never have any otherwise); Alcohol is the biggest no-no in my CH repetoir; Cigarettes are fine in fact they tend to relax me near the end of an attack(ditto coffee); They last 15-90 minutes..head remains sore(but wonderfully so) when they break; Changes in weather pressure (High to Low or Low to High)seem to exaserbate the attacks;Prednisone keeps them somewhat at bay when they first occur but they increase immediately after dosage is finished-second prescription does nothing; Oxygen does little; Cold air helps sometimes; Have gone into remission for 2 and three years (1 time each) otherwise at least once ayear sometimes twice for 4-12 weeks; two peak months are October and February; I never get nauseuos but I feel like I should; Finally, I want to scream at people who respond to me by saying "oh yeah, I get bad headaches too" (: Thanks for letting me vent - I'm a little anxious about going back to sleep but my body's drained
PS this Sunday is 30 years to the day---anybody wanna party
