I had an Irish Setter cross named Chrissy who always knew when I was sad or hurting. She would always come and sit beside me and lay her head on my lap or give me her paw. When she gave me her paw I would gently squeeze it to say thanks and she would squeeze back with her paw. Besides my hubby, she was my closest friend. She died about 12 years ago. I still miss her.
P.S. You're right about Irish Setters and the burglar thing. Good thing I don't have anything worth stealing!
