I'm happy to hear that the mushrooms did their job, Rider. I've been trying for years to tell every CH and migraine sufferer who will listen that psilocybin and/or LSD work like a charm. Both had been used in headache and other pain clinics for years before they made it illegal. The results were amazingly positive and the side effects were literally non-existent, other than better sleep (after it wore off), a sense of well-being and, of all things, great BM's which CH-er's know can get to be a problem after a while.
In my case, after more than twenty years without knowing a pain-free day, I had what I still believe to be an almost miraculous cure when I was given just a tiny amount of LSD by my doctor at the time. Not only did my Migraine stop in twelve minutes but I had no headaches of any kind for weeks after that. Each time I have had access to it, I have had the same results, even with the worst Cluster cycle!
The same thing is true for the mushrooms. And, they also had the added benefit of giving me a great new perspective on life.
Several of those who were in my pain management group of years ago have been totally free of headaches for years, especially those who take the mushrooms or pure LSD at the first sign of up-coming pain.
There are scores of studies which show the effectiveness of these things.
I would love to have that chance again, if only the drug war would lighten up a bit on this very important matter of medicinal use.
Whatever your feelings about these substances, they are far more effective and hundreds of times safer than pharmaceuticals -- not to mention being vastly cheaper.
