Anyway, I too have the need to apologize.
I'm sure it comes from the sadness we feel of putting our loved ones in such a state of helplessness. We as sufferers do what we can, and
the supporter wishes there was something they could do, so both suffer. And that's the last thing either person would ever want to do to the other (or family). Maybe we just feel responsible
for bringing them into it, although there is obviously no truth in that. The supporters might not feel the pain, but the helplessness felt can be just as bad.
But, for every "I'm sorry" I've said...I've always heard, "That's all right, no need, I/we love you."
