I hate drugs (a very strong statement from someone that was formerly involved in pharmaceutical research for 14 years, lol). I have done the drug-free thing a couple of times. The results were interesting. It seemed that the episode lasted shorter periods. However, I would sometimes blackout from the pain. Also, my tummy feels a lot better, as well as my overall physical shape in between attacks, and after the episodes. Nowadays, I am somewhat of a chicken. However, I take mostly over-the-counter drugs, not much better than the prescrition drugs. I reserve prescription drugs for the worst of the worst cases, and when job performance and personal functionality is a must. Other than that - just silently thrash on the bed, with the occassional howling sound in the dark.
