This could sound strange, but because I always feel it coming in the neck first, I've gotten in the habit of holding my head a certain way. I guess I feel if I don't aggitate it to much I'll be fine. While I'm going through the cycle, I cannot lay down in a bed. That's the quickest route I can think of to bring on an attack. It seems like pressure on the base of the skull at the neck is a trigger point. Now, that being the case...on to my "little something" : )
My fiancee...gotta start saying Annette...anyway Annette got me a pillow. Heh heh...looks like a hemoroid pillow, but it's U shaped and fits comfortably around my neck. This keeps me from leaning back and putting pressure on that spot of the neck and skull area. I also seem to be alright if I sleep sitting up. So, with the "pillow" and a recliner, if I can sleep, this is the only way that keeps me from getting night attacks. This pillow has become to me what the blanket was to Linus!
