I saw your post response to mine about Amerge. Yup, there are lots of things that should not be taken in conjunction with Amerge. Doc suggested that it would have a potentiative effect on the oter drugs, which could lead to the equivalent of an overdose. Also, he described that in rare occasions renal side effects are expressed. These end within a couple of days after discontinuin the drug. I think that the initial "jolt/rush" I got out of the drug, a rather umpleasant feeling I must add" may be the key to the recommendation to discontinue other drugs when taking Amerge. Also, I know that it is worrysome to be able to only take two pills in 24 hours, once every twelve, or every four to a max of two in 24 hrs. if th epain is not manageable. However, there is alwys Ibuprofen and Actifed. The later combination works well for me, thus I can live with the Amerge limitations at this point. Personally, I will take the Amerge only when Advil and Actifed will not do the job after 1600 mg of Ibuprofen in a 6 hr period of time. This is my first time on CH-specific precription drugs in almost 20 yrs of the disease. I am concerned that I may build resistance to Amerge, as I haveen many other posters here discuss such resistance buildup toward other CH-specific drugs.
Good Luck!
May the beat die a death conmesurate with the life it has given us...
