Hi Debby,
I been in Asia for about 16 years and have tried many "alternative treatments". Acupuncture (Tzen Jo) is worth a try. If it is administered by a skilled individual on a regular basis it is sure to help. Certainly once the pain starts the treatment will have modest effect. However, if used as a prophylaxis it has benefits.
I would be using it now if I were in a country in which the disposable needles were used.
Would love to hear of you experience if you elect to give it a try.
Good Luck!
