I believe COVERA is Verapamil. I started on it (I used Calan) during my last cycle. It stopped that cycle cold and prevented a new cycle for almost four years. Normally I would cycle every 13-16 months.
I am now in the middle of this new cycle and it has been particularly rough. I do wonder if I am paying for the extra time in remission...but who knows. Four years pain free and I had almost forgot I have the disorder.
I am now taking Prednisone as I feel I have gone beyond my limits with:
- Lack of sleep
- Too much pain killer
- Excessive amounts of Oxygen
So, I do believe that the Calcium Channel Blockers have some benefit. Unfortunately, it is temporary.
