I really appreciated reading the responses to Francois' post from Gary, Amy, Sailpappy, Jon, Phil and all the rest of you. Francois, I hope you got a lot out of these posts as well. I really think that helping each other deal with anger and depression and the "alone" feeling is the best thing about this web site.
What I got out of this thread is that many of us have learned to use the adversity of CH to make them stronger people. They have eliminated from their lives any substance that adds to depression or that slows the body, and have tried to maximize their physical and mental health to the extent possible. My favorite quote from the thread comes from Gary's post:
"About CHs, I'm absolutely convinced that there
are only a few rules to keep them away from us:
Do not: drink alcohol, smoke, eat rubbish and go to bed late.
Do: love your family, gym, work, read good books,
listen to classical music, go to the theater, be good."
I think the idea I get from this, as it relates to unresolved anger, is this. I have this demon living in my head, and I am very angry at it. It is an evil demon. The nastiest thing I can do to evil is to expose it to lots of sunshine and good works, laughter, good music and fresh air. That should punish the living shit out of the little bastard.
What a great place CH.com is.
