I've read lots of postings about the use of
caffeine, antihistamines, decongestants, Ritalin,
and other medications preventing ch attacks.
All these medications have a cns stimulant effect.
Many have worked for me as well.
QUESTION:
Would continued use make condition the worse, or even
cause the problem to begin with?
When my attacks started about 25 yrs. ago in college,
it followed when I started using uppers to pull
all nighters for exams. I became a big coffee and espresso
drinker at the time.
The attacks would happen after BEING OFF of stimulants
and relaxing for a while. Esp. after sleep.
The chronic attacks started 2 yrs ago following continued
use of decongestants (sudafed)for chronic sinus problems.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
