John,
I'm afraid I'm a bit lost at some of your comments. I've scanned down the board and have yet to find an instance of anyone flaming you. I did find your post, under the title "Ms Holloman's Playground" in which you said "Is this a new therapy? Divert your thoughts by playing at humor?" [My italics]. Well, I'd have to say yes. Just as your 'new therapy' is Extreme Sailing, whatever that might be. When I learned to sail some 35 years ago, it was as a very relaxing, peaceful endeavor. I find 'extreme sailing' to be an incredible oxymoron, but I'm not here to judge you. I mention this only as a means of pointing out that we all have individual perceptions.
My perception is that your statement about 'diverting your thoughts by PLAYING humor' implies that you find our humor less than real, i.e., a mere game. You, therefore, are the one (in my perception) who 'flamed' and you flamed an entire population. I'm sorry if laughter is a trigger for your clusters. Poetry triggers mine, but hey, that's just me. I admire and respect those who can compose poetry. When it appears on the board, I just click past it.
I also admire and respect someone who averages 4-12 attacks a day, and has had no less than 3/day every day for the past 30 years, yet nonetheless engages in "Extreme Sailing" as a recreational, and (dare I say it) diversionary tactic for your thoughts.
Could you perhaps explain exactly how one plays at extreme sailing as a means of diverting one's thoughts?
My good friend hub responded to one of your posts about morphine by pointing out that opiate-based pain relievers rarely, if ever, help clusterheads. You may well be the exception, as we have all come to learn that significant variations exist amongst us. But there are so many other, less addictive, less intrusive, more beneficial medications available today, and hub was merely attempting to point this out to you. Rather than accept his input, you shot him down.
Sorry, John, I can't back you on this one. Call me a flamer if you choose, but I have to side with the laughter folks and hub on this one. You were never flamed that I can see. You flamed, as I see it. And you ignored or rejected solid suggestions as to alternative meds.
KTSSU,
T
