I am now in the month where I probably will start in with a cycle. Last year I tried oxygen with stunning results-10-15 minutes and poof the pain is gone. The very first night I got 3 headaches in a row and went to sleep right away after each one with no problems. I did feel a bit on the "spacey" side, though. I found that the frequency of the ha's decreased and the cycle really didn't last more than 3 weeks.
I have Imitrex now that I have used very successfully for hormonal migraines (something that had gotten radically worse as I reached 50). My doctor has not said anything about using it for clusters but as I have an appointment tomorrow I will ask as I think that there might be times that would work better (most of mine come at night but there are always a couple of strays during the waking hours whereever and whenever they feel like coming on!)
Oh, I was told to definitely not use the oxygen more than 1 hour/day.
My question: is it safe to use either/or O2 and imitrex?
