By being a newcomer here myself, I hope that I am not jumping in ahead of anyone by welcoming you now, as unfortunate as the circumstances that brought you here might be, thus welcome (in my long, wordy ways :)).
Well, you are not alone as you can see by the posts in this board. I agree that understanding from friends and/or co-workers does not come easy. Agreed that it is difficult to be understanding of other's lack of support for one's adverse life situations when in the middle of a CH attack, rolling, thrashing, howling...(as in my case). Such is perhaps one of those unspoken evils of the demon in CH, not just the pain, but also the effects it has in our quality of life, moods, etc. By being a self-confessed optimist, except when the demon is trying to stick a fountain pen right over one of my orbitals without the benefit of anesthesia ;-), I look for positives in everything, even CH! I know, CH has no redeemable qualities...perhaps. For me, it has made me significantly more sensitive to other's problems and needs by having experienced others indiferences toward my affliction, and how bad the later feels.
