Stephen,
My advice is to get a new neurologist immediately. I am a traveling salesman. I have had chronic cluster headaches for 11 years. I drive all day every day for a living. There is absolutely no reason why a person with CH should lose their driving license. Your doctor is obviously ignorant of CH. First, driving is not like piloting an aircraft. When you know you are getting an attack, you can pull over and park. You have your attack, then you go on. I carry an oxygen bottle in the car with me. I carry Imitrex in the car with me. I carry ice and lots of water in the car with me. In 34 years of driving, I can't think of a single instance where there would not have been time to find an appropriate place to pull over and park before an attack got so bad that I couldn't drive safely. Get a new doctor.
