I finally decided to change Dr.s. (see Ice Picks??? 10/26). At this point, the new Doc has suggested a "headache journal", naproxen, an eye exam, and has scheduled an appointment for me to see a neurologist. My question is: what does a neurologist do? What can I expect from this visit? I guess because I have never experienced these headaches before, they can't be diagnosed as "cluster headaches." The new doc still suggests migraines...but everyday for more than two months now? Still have unpredictable stab/shock like pains on left side of head on or near temple. The weekend was awful, I had these symptoms plus a normal pounding headache. I can't stand not knowing what this is, when and if it will go away, and why I have it. Some days it drives me crazy! I am so glad I found you- It does seem like you people understand the symptoms more than the Drs. They seem to brush it off....I keep thinking this will magically go away and then everyone will think I'm nuts or something. I can't stand the waiting...Thank you all and please let me know what to expect from the neurologist.
