I often feel the pain starting in the upper gumline on the affected side. In fact, some of the worst pain remains concentrated there at the same time as the eye and temple pain. (I don't have a dental problem either.)That's why I hold something hot in that area usually hot coffee in my mouth or a hot cup against my face. It soothes me and can even abort an attack if started soon enough. However, remember we are all different.
You might want something cold against that area. Who knows, both might be worth a try before you use your limited supply of Imitrex.
