Eletriptan will be marketed under the name RELPAX by Pfizer. The FDA issued an approval letter to allow sales in fall, '99 but they are now seeking additional data. This means it will not be on the market for several months-but worth asking your drug store/doctor about.
It looks like Relpax may have special value for cluster because it has a three to six fold higher affinity than sumpatriptan for the receptor sites where it does its thing. I read into this bit of information that it should translate into quicker action and longer action. Let's hope...
