Interesting letter this morning:
"DEAR HELOISE: Here's a hint for an ice pack: Pour a bottle of corn syrup into a quart freezer bag and seal and double it. Store it in the freezer. It will not freeze but will become very cold and viable. Just put it where it hurts and simply refreeze later.

I think Pat meant "pliable." Sounds as if this cold pack would work better than a bag of peas or corn, and would not spoil.
