Thanx for the feedback, M. In both migrain and clusters, mood stabilisers have been used with significant success. But where in migrain the tricyclic antidepressants are successful, in clusters Lithium has proved to be the thing (at least in some cases) Both lithium and tricyclic antidepressants are mood stabilisers, and what makes this fact worth noticing, is the fact that the hypothalamus (same brain structure I mentioned in my hypothesis, which is involved in "thirst regulator" as well as serotinin activity, as well as in clusters, is ALSO INVOLVED IN OUR EMOTION FORMATION!!!! So yes, Prozac is bound to have a positive impact along the lines of the other two categories of mood stabilisers.

Important and very interesting to observe, is something I have posted previously, i.e. that some indication exist that when some cluster sufferers are "in good mood" (high spirit), they are less likely to get a cluster attack in that specific mood. The reverse is at least appear to be also true in some sufferers, that when they feel down, they are more likely to get a severe attack. This would imply that hypothalamic activity precedes an attack, which is in total agreement with cluster research. In fact, this phenomenon supports why Prosac , Lithium, and anti-depressants work (in at least some cases). Please stay in touch!

Jerry
