I've tried a pill bearing the commercial name "Amerge," with the pharmaceutical name of Naraptriptan. Prior to it, I had tried O2, Imitrex (injections and pills), lydocaine, and some ergotamines. I found Imitrex to work to a less than satisfactory level (hit or miss), yet still better than anything else. That is, until I tried Amerge.
What I'm told is that Naratriptan has the effect of Sumatriptan, but is distributed in a time-released fashion. If any of you can relate to that aweful skin-stretching feeling you get after an imitrex shot, you would appreciate a drug that gives you stretch-free distribution (without the overdose).
So of course - no guarantees. And I am sorry if this information has already appeared on the message board. I am brand new to the site, and may be boring some of you, but only in an attempt to help my brothers and sisters with whom, evidently, I seem to share the bond of pain.
If anyone else has tried it, please post your impressions.
Wishing you all the tranquility you deserve,
