My favorite subject 5-HT (5-hydroxytriptamine, aka. serotonin). Yes it does control moods. That's why sometimes the tricyclic anti-depressants like Elavil work as prophalactics on CH. It always comes back to the 5-HT.
I've been taking 5-HTP supplements for a few months now (it's one step before 5-HT, 5-HTP=5 hydroxytriptophan). It boosts my 5-HT levels (supposedly) which in turn boosts my melatonin levels. Gotta admit, I am feelin' pretty mellow lately. Maybe I should call it Mellowtonin.
