Tom,
I understand you very well. I also lost a job because of CH. I have it every fall. On the second year, I felt so bad and depressed that I asked doctor for a leave at job and he granted me. I was 2 months out of the game!. When I came back, I found out that my superiors had decide to remove all the responsabilities of my job putting me in a position that you could compare with "a cigarette butt thrown to a corner". It was too much, and my reaction attitude made the trick. I was given the only option they wanted. Leave the firm.
During the rest of the year, I thought about it and felt so sorry for myself... I got a new job and when next fall CH came again, I decided to fight. NO LONGER CLUSTER WAS GOING TO CHANGE MY LIVE!. The positive attitude did some good, and believe it or not, not being at home suffering from the last and waiting for the next, but being arround doing my job as if nothing was happening did marvels on my mind !, (Obviously, taking the Imitrex shots as much as necessary, which by the way in my country cost, with insurance and all, more than 29 bucks the box of two and I may use one and a half or two boxes par day !!!). It seemed as if CH was less painful and I simply forgot the feeling of being scared as hell waiting for the next one.
I suffer from "normal" CH, and with what I read, I guess that chronic CH must be horrible, but don't give it up. Keep fighting. We all have a taste of what is like living in hell, the question is whether we will leave hell take over us or if we will tame hell.
