Hi Everyone!
I'm so happy that I found this site!! I was feeling very isolated, thinking that no one understood what i was going thru...Anyway, I'm a 31 year old female who has been suffering since the age of 21 while in college. I'm a hospital pharmacist and I thought I'd share a little input about the very clever imitrex tip. That was a very ingenious discovery... but it's rather unnecessary. They make imitrex vials, in addition to the self-injector kit. All you need to do is learn how to draw up a syringe, similiar to how a diabetic draws up insulin into a syringe and also learn how to give yourself a subcutaneous injection. Using this method, is much more safe, because you don't have to reuse the same needle numerous times. I had my physician prescribe the imitrex vials and you will also need a prescription for the syringes... you will need 1ml tuberculin syringes. I never thought I could give myself an injection... but I'm sure you all realize that with the pain we suffer, I would do anything to relieve it. If anyone has any questions, I would be happy to hear from you. I might not know the answer, but I would be happy to try to find any information out for you, if I could. I have a question regarding the rebound headaches I'm experiencing from the imitrex. After giving myself an injection at 2AM, I wake up in the morning with a headache similiar to a hangover headache. Does anyone have any tips on how to deal with that type of headache, that seems to last all day long? Sometimes I wonder if the pain I go thru the next day, is worth the immediate relief I get at 2am, hahaha. Have a Happy New Year everyone!!! Karen
