brian there is no reason to be scared. i have had chronic clusters for 4 years and 3 years ago i went to a headache specialist in philadelphia. i have been hospitalized for days. i have been on so many different medications i am surpised i am still alive. the doctor says i have one of the worst headache conditions in the united states. i am in a world wide study. but,i haven't had a cluster headache in 9 months. the answer is very high doses of verapamil. i take 960mg. of verapamil a day. thats 12 80mg. tablets a day. i know that sounds unbelievable but its true. verapamil is a blood pressure medication that reduces pressure in blood vessils. very high doses of verapamil reduces so much pressure in the blood vessils in the brain that you don't get cluster headaches. e-mail me if you have questions.
