Verapamil worked to break my chronic cycle the first time. It started working within days that time. I've read and been told though, to give it a week or so. Also they sometimes increase dosage to way high amounts. I thought 80mg. 5 times a day was high, but some take the 240mg? Sustianed Release twice a day. I would definately get some Caffergot or similar Ergoatamine tablet to suplement it. I've always had breakthrough attacks with Verapamil and also with Prednisone. The headaches seem intelligent to find their way around the medications! Best of luck, Rich
