It's not like I don't have better things to do than ponder pain, but I found myself doing just that. I don't know. Whoever said that there is a fine line between pleasure and pain was certainly an S/M person who had NEVER experienced Cluster Headaches. Or the adage would be that there is a fine line between pain and agony. Many an intimate relationship would end on that one!
When I was a kid I used to think about what it would be like to feel ones lifetime of pain in one 30 second period. Every skinned knee, toothache, sore throat, bruise, cut, broken bone, etc. Suffer profoundly for 30 seconds, then have no pain for life. Of course, at the time I knew nothing about CH. Since every "10" that I've ever had seems like a lifetime of pain in itself, 30 seconds seems like child's play, which is what the little exercise is.
