I have found that he Imitrex Nasal Spray is "socially acceptable", even in front of a large group. The NS is less traumatic (than the self-administered syringe) to the recovering junkies sitting in the audience, and to myself. It is certainly less traumatic than watching me go through a full-blown attack in public. If I'm going into a public situation and feel at risk of CH-attack, I'll put one of the NS rigs in my pocket. Sometimes just having in on-hand is preventive, like saying "I don't care that the CH-demon wants to screw-up my life, I'm going to do what I can."
It took me a long time to get over the denial that kicks in. I always seemed to wish it were a normal headache, but you know what, no matter what I wished they dont care. They don't like Imitrex so I keep a dose handy just to scare them off.
