I woke up this morning at 3 am and lay there for a bit wondering why. Then I realized there was a little demon beating a drum rhythm on the inside of my forehead above my left eye. And a conga line of his brethern was winding its way from there over the bridge of my nose to my right eye and then to my temple. The pain wasn't unbearable, so I lay there visualizing it for awhile. Tried to imagine them dancing their way _out_ of my head, but that didn't help so I finally got up and paced around for a bit. After about an hour they quieted down, so I went back to sleep. Some demon cousins came back to play at 8am and haven't left just yet, but I'm using the denial approach right now as there's no active nail pounding happening, just a worm burrowing its way inside from my forehead to my nose.
While I was wandering around the house early this morning I was trying to place my pain on the Kip scale (but I couldn't remember it precisely) to describe to my doctor later. It didn't seem like it was excruciating pain that had awoken me, just the demon's din. I thought it should hurt more if it was going to wake me up. Now that I can access the site, I see this is a Kip 6. Somehow seeing a description just makes it more bearable. Thank you thank you thank you Mr. Kipple.
It has been four days since I finished my Verapamil. I guess I can report to the neuro that it did seem to have a positive effect. I guess I'd better also get my prescription refilled.
Aaah (sigh of relief), I worked on this long enough, the worm is sliding off....maybe never to return (cue in sound of wicked witch hysterical laughter).
Yours in denial and delusion,
Selene
