Last year a neighbor of mine became the victim of an obsessed stalker. She is in her 40's, has two children and had just celebrated a 25 year anniversary with her husband. It came out of nowhere and the change in her personality was extremely noticable. She became paranoid, depressed, agoraphobic and yet had to hold down a job. Sound familiar. Like drummer I am also chronic, I don't have any real down time, so it is very much like having a stalker in my head. Since I am only a one year sufferer I can't in all good conscience give any thoughts about long term affects. But, I understand where your ideas came from. I think the answer to "the chicken or the egg" is a ways down the road.
