Don’t waste your time or your money on Prozac. I’ve been taking it for depression for about seven years. It works against depression. It has no effect whatsoever against clusters. And there are other reasons to stay away from it as a cluster preventive. There’s no fixed dosage. So, it can take months to discover what your proper dosage should be. I take four a day and probably could stand to take more, but Prozac is almost hyper expensive. On my health plan, I can get 60 hits of Vicodin, 60 hits of Fioricet, 100 hits of 800-mg. Ibuprofen, and 120 hits of Verapamil for $14.00, altogether. This same health plan charges over $50.00 for 100 hits of Prozac alone.
I once read a brochure that listed all known anti-headache meds and Prozac was certainly on that list. However, my personal experience is that Prozac won’t prevent *any* kind of headache. Don’t waste your time or your money on it as a cure for clusters.
