Their is no doubt in my mind that I have an addictive personality. In my youth it was alchol and pills. I smoke 2 packs a day. I have controlled my drinking for the past 20 years and only occasionally drink nowdays. I do, however, know that should I reach a certain point I would be unable to stop drinking until I passed out. If your question is does excessive compulsions cause CH's, I would say the answer is no. I do think that CH's have a very complex cause and part of it an excessive compulsive personality.
