this is ONLY true if you buy the current line of psycobabble that calls ANYTHING one does more than is wise an addiction

to me, THAT idea is a VERY poor trend we are going thru, thanks to TV talk shows, the Hazelden Foundation, etc - -

there is a HUGE HUGE difference between "addiction" and "overindulgence"

but people LOVE being told they have an "addiction" because
1. that provides them with a pseudoexcuse for simple overindulgence (in anything)
2. that gives them an excuse to buy things - selfhelp books, aroma therapy, healing crystals, etc - the all-American addiction ! consumerism
