Hello all,
I suffer from a cyclic pattern of worsening migraine type pain that is diagnosed presently as a classical migraine but that fits some attributes of cluster headache. I don't have some of the hell common to cluster sufferers, I'm not waken by the pain and the pain isn't as severe but I do have a intrathecal morphine pump and oral opiates--I hate to guess at how bad it would be without these medications even though they don't begin to control the headache pain. I do benefit from Oxygen and drinking a lot of water helps some (but I will never get to the amount mentioned on this site, I can't imagine it!) I'm presently taking Bellegral-S around the clock. It's an old drug that my pharmacist hasn't seen prescribed in years. It's been a big help to me.
I wanted to tell you about an email list that I manage. This is just an addition to the wonderful help here--not something to replace any of this. I operate the Headache list and the Chronic Pain Forum at Sam Houston University. The Headache list is for sufferers of any sort of headache pain--so those that still are unsure of a diagnosis may find helpful information there (there are many cluster sufferers subscribed too). Both lists are very quiet this time of year. I've often said that we like the headache list to be quiet but people will respond if you post any sort of request or question. Both lists are non-profit and free of spam and flames.
I hope this information is helpful and fits with the effort here. I appreciate this service. This site is very comprehensive and easy to use and I plan to stop in on a regular basis. Bev S.
