I have randomly moving stabbing pains in my teeth, cheek, temple, jaw pivot, and ear, all on my left side. My eye and socket are never involved. The pains each last about 1 to 10 seconds.
The headaches are usually needling me in the background but spike violently when Im sleeping and starting to dream, or facing work-stress. SOmetimes the pains carry into the morning from the night before. In a night attack, to go back to sleep (for 45 minute intervals) I do weightlifting, usually 40 squat lifts of 65 lbs in rapid succession.
In my first headache cycle 18 months ago, my neuro diagnosed this as neuralgia and prescribed 100mg Neurontin/4hr, which does not work at all now. Fiorcet
prescribed by the GP doesn't either. I was able to end my first headache cycle by cutting out salt with dinner - thats all it took - but not this time! BTW
I think certain foods help, such as tomato sauce (the pure stuff in the $.33 cans) and peanut butter (for the magnesium).
